Margot Lissens, MSc

Margot Lissens is a PhD student at the School for Mass Communication Research at KU Leuven under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Desirée Schmuck. Her research focusses on the role social media influencers play in enhancing political knowledge among youth.

Her PhD is situated within the interuniversity project (iBOF) “POLKNOW – Learning about the world in the digital information age. Causes and solutions for uninformed, selectively informed, and misinformed (young) citizens”. Margot’s PhD project combines different academic fields: media psychology, political communication and (digital) media effects.
